ESF headlines
We are entering the business part of the season with 6 games to play in the league season, we take a look at the leagues and frontrunners….
In European Superleague 1, Liverpool and manager Tim have been leading the way over last few matches and another 4-0 win tonight sees them have a 4pts lead over Manchester United their nearest challengers.
Juventus have lost form and now 7pts behind in the title race having led most of the season, Juventus meet Liverpool on matchday 18 with Liverpool facing Manchester United on matchday 21.
It should be an exciting title run between these 3 teams with the bookies favourites being Liverpool, but football is funny old game.
Liverpool’s Edin Hazard leads the scoring charts with 27 goals, followed by PSG’s new sensation Kalimuendo with 19 goals and Juventus’s Luis Muriel on 18 goals. At the bottom, Chelsea look doomed after their manager Deefa failed to show to pretty much every match this season, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, AS Roma and the free falling Ajax who have hit bad form look to be battling for survival.
European Superleague 2, managerless Red Star Belgrade have stunned everyone by maintaining their run at the top but Inzaghi’s Girondins Bordeaux are closing in after tonights 6-2 win over 3rd place Portsmouth which should just about secure promotion for the French side.
A 10pt gap now to CSKA Sofia, Portsmouth and Steaua Bucharest with 18pts to play for looks a tall order to close. Bordeaux’s Hwang Ui-jo leads the scoring charts with 19 goals followed by Red Star Belgrade’s Nicolas Pepe on 18 goals and Red Star Belgrade’s Sergio Aguero on 14 goals.
The relegation scrap sees managerless Inter Milan look on their way down, Everton, IFK Goteborg, Sparta Prague, Borussia Dortmund and Leeds United keep swapping places and 2 from these 5 will drop down to ES3.
European Superleague 3 the background league is also hotting up, Swedish club Malmo FF lead the way with only 1 defeat and 8pts cushion in race for promotion into the ESF top divisions. Then its anyone’s for next 2 places with Club Brugge, Djurgardens, Rangers , Bayer Leverkusen and FC Zurich look like they will fight it out.
Two of the favourites Feyenoord and Rennes have disappointed both lanquishing near the bottom end of the table, leading the scoring charts Bas Dost of Club Brugge with 15 goals, Thein of Malmo with 14 goals and Ishak of Lech Poznan on 14 goals.
